Style and Usage
First Reference- The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon.
- Use upper case T even when you’re in mid-sentence, e.g., “Today, The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon …”
- the Ballmer Institute
- Use lowercase ”t”, e.g., “and the Ballmer Institute is in Portland …”
- This is a gift from Connie and Steve Ballmer to the University of Oregon.
- Connie Ballmer, BS '84 (Journalism)
- Refer to the gift as “more than $425 million” or “over $425 million.”
- The undergraduate degree program is proposed and subject to state approval.
- Use “institute” when describing the effort, avoid use of the following terms: “initiative," “center," or “campus."
