Dr. Elizabeth Lefler earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2009, after completing a Pre-doctoral Internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She then went on to complete a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Lefler was a professor at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) for 14 years before coming to the Ballmer Institute in 2024. While at UNI, Dr. Lefler earned a Fulbright in Krakow, Poland and won the Iowa Board of Regents award for faculty excellence. Dr. Lefler studies ADHD and sex/gender differences in mental health and is committed to bridging the gap between clinical science and community practice.
