Kara Miller joined the Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health in June 2024 as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director, Katie McLaughlin. In her role, Kara provides comprehensive administrative support and facilitates effective communication within the institute. Her organizational skills and attention to detail ensure the smooth operation of the Executive Director's office.
Prior to her current role, Kara worked at Portland State University in the Office of Academic Affairs and the School of Social Work. Kara is deeply committed to children's mental health and actively supports initiatives that enhance young peoples’ well-being. At the Ballmer Institute, she strives to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. Her enthusiasm for mental health advocacy is further strengthened by her academic background; she will soon hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University.
In her free time, Kara enjoys volunteering with local youth organizations, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
