Dr. Erika Coles is an Associate Professor in the Department of School Psychology and Educational Leadership in the College of Education and a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her area of research and clinical work is attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and related disorders, specifically dissemination of evidence-based psychosocial treatments for ADHD and related disruptive behavior disorders in children. Her work focuses on the investigation of barriers that teachers and parents experience in implementing effective treatments for ADHD in schools, homes, and other settings.
Prior to her arrival at ISU in 2023, Dr. Coles was the director of the clinical psychology doctoral program at Florida International University (FIU) as well as the clinical director of FIU’s Center for Children and Families.
