Nikki Harris joined the Ballmer Institute in 2025 as the communications and digital media specialist. She manages the institute’s website and creates print and digital media that share its mission and work with students, partners, and the broader community. Nikki brings more than a decade of experience in education marketing and communications.
Supporting young people has been a thread through Nikki’s career. She led enrollment marketing and communications at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, then taught middle school English language arts on the city’s West Side. Nikki holds a master’s in public administration from St. Mary’s University and a bachelor’s in English writing and rhetoric from St. Edward’s University.
Originally from Central Texas, Nikki now calls Portland home. On weekends, she’s usually exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and son, whether camping or trying a new brewery closer to home. When she’s not out and about, she’s working her way through every Best Picture winner, reading a horror novel or “weird girl lit,” or testing a new recipe at home.
