For Tara Raines, joining the Ballmer Institute felt like a rare alignment of passion and purpose. Drawn to the institute’s mission, she saw an opportunity to help build a long-needed, innovative approach to children’s behavioral health from the ground up. As the senior director of child behavioral health dissemination, Raines sees herself as a connector and cheerleader, ensuring the institute’s ideas reach classrooms, community agencies, and policymaking spaces nationwide.

Raines envisions the Child Behavioral Health Training Program as the national blueprint for training professionals to support children’s mental health. Looking ahead, she imagines the institute as the nation’s central hub for behavioral health innovation—a thriving network of university, legislative, and community partners working side by side.

“I see a future where child behavioral health is part of the fabric of every classroom and community, and where the Ballmer Institute is the heartbeat keeping that fabric strong,” said Raines.
